Step 5
Separate the two sections of the cartridge by
carefully lifting the waste hopper up away from
the toner hopper.

Set the toner
hopper aside.
Step 3
Using needle nose pliers, remove
the cartridge pins from the
cartridge.

Waste Hopper Disassembly:
Step 6
Place the waste hopper on the workbench with
the drum facing up and the drum shutter
towards you. Slide the drum shutter open (up).
Remove the drum shutter bar from its position-
ing holes on each side of the waste hopper.

Using a spring hook, release the
cartridge tension spring from its
post on the contact side of the
cartridge.

Remove the drum shutter from the drum shut-
ter arm.

Using a pin removal tool, remove the roll pin
that holds the drive element to the drum axle.

Pull the drive element from the drum axle.

Using needle nose pliers remove
the pins.

Rotate the drum so the roll pin holding the drum
in place sits horizontal. Using the pin removal
tool remove the pin that locks the drum in posi-
tion.

Set the roll pin aside.

Push the drive side of the drum axle into the
drum. While holding the drum, pull the drum
axle from the contact side of the waste hopper.

Remove the drum from the waste hopper.

Lift up the PCR retaining arms and
remove the PCR from the PCR
saddles.

Remove
the retaining arms from the ends of
the PCR.

Clean the
PCR using a dry lint free cloth.

If you plan on reusing the OEM drum
place the drum in a protected area out of the
light.

Using the 5/64” drill bit drill two holes next to
the pins that hold the PCR retaining arms on
each side of the waste hopper.

Clean the waste hopper using dry compressed
air or a vacuum.

Using a # 2 Phillips screwdriver
remove the two screws holding the
wiper blade.

Waste Hopper Reassembly:

Clean the PCR saddles using a cotton swab
and alcohol.

Clean the OEM wiper blade sealing material
using a lint free cloth and alcohol.

This will make it tacky again allowing it to stick
to the wiper blade once the blade is installed.
Step 17
Grab the wiper blade using needle
nose pliers. Carefully lift the wiper
blade leaving the OEM sealing
material stuck to the waste hopper.

Clean the wiper
blade using dry compressed air.

Install the two wiper blade shims to each side
of the waste hopper.

Apply yellow toner to the end of the wiper
blade instead of padding powder. Place the
wiper blade onto the waste hopper and install
the two screws that hold the blade in place.

Remove the wiper blade shims
from each end of the waste hopper.

Place the PCR retaining arms onto the shaft of
the PCR so the cam on each retaining arm face
out toward the ends of the waste hopper.

Install the PCR into the PCR saddles so the
white PCR retaining arm is on the gear side of
the waste hopper.

Rotate the drum axle and the drum
till the hole for the pin that locks the
drum in place are aligned. Place the
roller pin into the hole. Using a pin
installation tool, install the pin
through the drums drive hub.

Install the two pins through the cam of the
PCR retaining arms on each side of the waste
hopper.

Pad the drum using a small amount of yellow
toner instead of padding powder. Place the
new or used drum onto the waste hopper so
the drive hub is on the gear side of the waste
hopper and the hole for the roller pin faces up.

Rotate the drum 5-10 revolutions to
ensure the drum and wiper blade
were properly lubricated so the
wiper blade does not flip. Clean the
PCR using a lint free cloth to
remove any toner that may have
gotten on the roller.
Step 32
Place the drum shutter actuator pin
into the drum shutter arm. Lift open
the drum shutter and install the drum
shutter bar into the positioning holes
on each side of the waste hopper.

Hold the drum axle so the holes for the roll pins
face up. Slide the drive side of the drum axle
through the contact end of the drum.

Place the drive element onto the shaft of the
drum axle so it looks like the element is point-
ing to the ceiling. Install the small roll pin into
the hole in the drive element. Using a pin tool,
install the pin into the drive element.
